Virginia is not known as Big Sky country but it sure seemed that way to me and my younger brother Keith as we played in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Those experiences beneath the heavens shaped our future selves. Though I moved far away to another beautiful landscape, he often called to describe the beauty of the Virginia sky. He shared this picture with me nearly nine-years ago out of the blue reminding me of where I’d grown up.
