A young wood thrush perhaps? Its orange chest was speckled black. I startled it a bit as I walked by on the sidewalk. No flapping of wings. It just walked deeper into the brush along the Mystic.

My first guess is a juvenile robin? Something about the face…of course, now I have to get the bird books out. I am exploring looking without “knowing”, but I still love to learn new birds! You caught such an expression from this little one.
