Today I wear a sweater and have a shawl and knit cap in my bag for later. But only a few days ago it was near 100 degrees and high humidity. Of course, I picked that day to journey into Harvard Square on my way to the Charles River. I never quite made it to the river. Too hot and common sense won out. With a cold bottle of water, I sat beneath the shade of a tree and in the end decided to see what I could capture from that stationery vantage point.

And then I lay back and pointed the camera up.

I couldn’t quite capture the two red birds sitting on the white branch of the birch but I was happy to capture these winged creatures with their various hues.

It was easy to hear the birds but so hard to photograph them.

A wonderful challenge while walking along the trails of Horn Pond.

.
It was a long walk by the Charles River from Harvard Square and then along Greenough Boulevard. I had set myself a time limit for venturing forth and then I having to turn back. But somehow I always lose track of time as curiosity overwhelms common sense. There’s always one more thing to see around the bend in the road or over the banks of the river. But no matter how much I ache the following day, when I look at the images, its always worth it.
