My attempt at growing pots and pots and pots of different nasturtium have not been greatly successful. Nice blooms on occasion but small leaves and stems on the spindly side. Though my gardening has moved outside, I still tend to do what I did indoors which was to use the same soils, same watering times, etc for every plant. I need to learn more about soils and drainage and all sorts of stuff. Even so … what has grown and bloomed has been wonderfully soul-satisfying.

Icebergs
Editorial note: Do you miss traveling? I do too! I thought my friend Andrea’s images of Iceland, taken before the pandemic, were beautiful but now … they are truly majestic, capturing a dynamic landscape rich in color and full of light. Thanks for sharing, Andrea!

rose gold & fire in the sky

One of the first times I picked up a camera in a serious way was to capture the glory of the rose gold sky I kept seeing as I walked home from work. It was never the same shade of rose or gold of course. I remember once the sky was so magnificent that I paused on the sidewalk and a man standing on his lawn … well, we just shared a moment of staring into the sky at the clouds being lit from below by the setting sun.

I think one of my creative goals in this strange year is to train my camera to the skies once more. We’ll see what happens. Meanwhile if you’re interested in acquiring these images as prints or on merchandise, please visit links below.

At 5am this bright fellow starts singing. Not the worst way to start the day though I wouldn’t mind the music starting just a little later. π

through rippled glass

For years I’ve been lucky enough to live in a Victorian house that has a window with old glass producing a rippled view if you stand in just the right place. I’ve watched the seasons change through this window. This is Spring … or at least Spring in my neighborhood … lots of branches with buds waiting to open. Today’s downpour is probably something the trees and shrubs need though I would have preferred a bit more sunshine. I’ll keep my camera handy for when the blooms burst forth.
