If you are ever in Boston’s Copley Square and you only have time to enter two buildings to view the beauty of their interior art and architecture then I highly recommend two buildings that face each other:  the Boston Public Library and Trinity Church.  Now, if you only have time to enter one building — and the sun is shining so bright that it brings tears to your eyes — consider a tour of Trinity.  Why?  The stained glass windows.  Yesterday was especially bright and beautiful in the city.  And I was especially lucky to capture a few images of brightly illuminated glass.

Between meetings today, I was able to stroll through the Boston Public Gardens.  As I rested in the shade of a willow tree by the pond, mallards waddled by on land while a majestic white swan glided by on the water.  My hands were busy stuffing lemon ice down my throat (so hot here!).  By the time my hands were free, all that was left in my vicinity were feathers.

With its foot sticking out like that, I’m convinced this turtle has attitude.  As I told a friend, I thought these little guys were just statues until I moved closer and that foot kicked out.

Life and death connected as part of a cycle of existence.  That is the thought that comes to mind as I review these pictures taken by the Charles River yesterday.  It was sunlight glinting on the scales of the fish that initially caught my eyes.  And, then, the longer I looked, the more I saw.

With spring’s onset, I look forward to hikes in the woods and by the river, gardening and other earthy pursuits.  Steve yearns to return to the water.  I don’t share his passion for riding the waves but he sometimes lures me out there with the promise of unique photo opportunities.  This photo was taken from Boston Harbor a few years ago.  I’ll be curious to see what’s captured from the water this year!
