I’m all about bringing nature indoors. That’s why its been such fun this winter to sip tea and to work with images in the public domain, as well as my own photography, to update my redbubble shop. I selected several artists whose works moved me personally and sorted through merchandise I would actually use. First up … William Morris.

I’m a fan of Morris’s bright, bold prints but I liked these for their unfinished quality and the softness of the colors. Very soothing to me. See what you think when you visit the shop.

And you can learn more about Morris via this Wikipedia page.

I’ve been quite pleased with my own tote bag. While there are several options when ordering through the site, I tend toward the Basic Style with Black Cotton Strap. This one, featuring details from a Margaret Redmond stained glass window, will soon be available at the shop at Trinity Church in the City of Boston.

The mailman must have wondered why I was sitting on the steps waiting for him! I’m really quite pleased with the production of this notebook and pouch featuring a photo taken in autumn, not too long ago, as I walked by the Mystic River. Painter and stained glass designer John LaFarge (1835 – 1910) talked about construction by color in one of his lectures to architecture students. The phrase resonated with me I guess in part because when I am staring at a stained glass window or other architectural feature I am drawn to the colors and see them as building blocks. Now, not everything should be deconstructed and reconstructed, but it has been great fun and an honor to play with the sunlit glass and bold interior paintings at Trinity Church to produce these items that are now available in the church gift shop.

Shop hours are traditionally Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am – 4:30 pm, and Sunday 1:00 – 4:30 pm. http://trinitychurchboston.org/visit/tours

From her lovely garden in Brooklyn. These that weren’t eaten on the road back to Boston were sliced up with some cucumbers and celery and tossed with oil and vinegar. Good stuff! 🙂
