The Abbey Room is located on the second floor of the McKim Building in the Boston Public Library in Copley Square.  Its high walls are covered by a series of mural paintings depicting The Quest for the Holy Grail.  A lovely place to hang out on a rainy day in Boston.

The Menu

First Course – Smoked Salmon Salad

A bed of fresh spinach greens topped with sliced cherry tomatoes and radishes, chopped red onions and smoked salmon.  Liberally season with black pepper and a bit of garlic powder and salt.  Drizzle with olive oil.

Second Course – Sauteed Vegetable Medley

Pour olive oil into frying pan.  Turn heat down low.  Coarsely chop red onions, oyster mushrooms, garlic clove.  Toss into frying pan with a bunch of broccoli florets.  Add a little chicken broth.  Consider adding bacon (but I decided I’ve been eating too much bacon lately).  Season with salt and pepper to taste.  Serve with some toasted bread.

End the night with an orange.  Consider chocolate … 😉

I was tempted to title this post, Cohabitation, since it is a bumblebee amidst “fairies,” as so many people have called the dandelion seeds.  But I decided to go with the name of the person who gave me the bumblebee.  She found it on the ground on her way into work and thought I might like to photograph it. 😉

… but I did not dream of growing up to become a chef, like Jackie Hill did.  Of course, I had a toy camera and I never dreamed of growing up to become a photographer.  You never know what a day — or a life — will hold, do you?  Those random  thoughts were inspired by this beautiful article about a woman following her dreams.
